Unsere Notizen

Look great but poor quality insole

These trainers are my fifth purchase from WVS, as I have been continually impressed by the looks, comfort and quality of their products. However, after only a few months of light wear, the insoles on these trainers have worn on both insoles. I'm still giving four stars as they are otherwise great trainers.

Great shoe - let down by the insoles :(

Firstly, I’d just like to preface this review by saying I’ve been a WVS customer for years and have been very happy with all other products (wallet, dock boots, belt, and more). I love the company ethos and the customer service has always been fantastic. And I will continue to buy products from WVS in the future.

These shoes are comfortable and are good quality in all aspects apart from the insoles, which really let them down. I initially bought the shoes in May, and by June, after very minimal wear, the layers of the insoles were starting to split apart. This causes the fabric to bunch up in places which is uncomfortable and rubs. The “foam” also breaks into little pieces and gets everywhere.

I contacted WVS customer service and (as always) got a very quick response. Will was very apologetic and said that this hasn’t been reported before. Will also organised a replacement pair free of charge, for which I am grateful, and they were delivered promptly. The 2nd pair initially seemed better, although a little over 2 months later, the insole on these has done the exact same thing :(

It was actually easy to remove the insole and replace it with one I bought in a shop. Which has resolved my issue.

I understand from Will that this material (Tencel) can fray sooner than other synthetic materials due to the natural material content. However I really think WVS can do better here - the shoe itself looks great and the quality is excellent, but it’s massively let down by the insole.

Despite the insole, I would actually still buy this shoe (yep!) and just replace the insole as i love the aesthetic and the quality is otherwise great. But this does go against WVS’ environmental ethos, and I would rather go with a natural material insole if it was more hardwearing.

    Super comfy and stylish

Got these for summer use. They are real comfy, the insole is quite plush and the large sole absorbs a lot of pressure. Have been able to walk 5-6 miles (8-9.5 km) in these no problem. They feel snug and secure. Look great with denim. The tab to assist getting your foot in is helpful. Sizing was true-to-size for me (Men's US 10 / UK 43). I have about eight pairs of Will's and the last few years all the footwear has fit really well and consistently. The quality has definitely improved from about 8 years ago.

Stylish, overall comfortable, but with one minor flaw

I really love these. It’s a great look with all sorts of outfits—jeans, pants, sweatpants, whatever.

Maybe my ankles are just weird and bony, but with multiple WVS shoes I’ve had this issue where the opening of the shoe where the foot inserts touches my ankle bone, making it painful to walk about in these for an extended period of time. Other than that, these are fantastic.
